Travel agencies in Hanoi reported a surge in travel demand on the upcoming national holiday that begins at the end of this month. A travel agent in Hanoi said bookings of its tours have risen by between 150-300% depending on destinations. Other big companies also saw more customers compared to the same period last year.
The companies attributed the rise to the 5-day holiday, which begins on April 30 (Liberation Day), as well as stabling prices of tour packages. In particular, Myanmar, Cambodia and the Republic of Korea have emerged as popular destinations for Hanoians, besides traditional outbound ones such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China.
